Giovanni Micico

Giovanni Micico (b.1982) lives and works in Florence, Italy. At an early age, he showed an inclination towards art, music and poetry, winning a prize for his painting of the cherry blossom at the age of nine, in his native Japan. Dream was to become a painter. In 2005, he decided to take on a path to become a professional painter. In 2008, he arrived in Italy in Florence to study from the Old Masters in the past studying also the mediums the Masters used in Renaissance; egg tempera, Fresco, oil, silverpoint and feathered pen. Compositional splendor of Raphael, Titian, and Caravaggio left him an impression. In Florence, he also went through a conversion to the Catholicism, which, he considers, was the greatest gift he has ever received. Since then, he immersed himself in practicing a figurative art studying and teaching for 10 years.
